Pour promouvoir la jeunesse, la paix et la sécurité
Le lancement officiel de l’Initiative jeunesse 2250 a eu lieu ce vendredi 13 février 2026, à Pétion–Ville. Cette initiative se veut un espace national de concertation dédié au plaidoyer autour de la résolution 2250 des Nations unies sur la jeunesse, la paix et la sécurité.
Créé par des organisations issues des dix départements du pays, en collaboration avec des partenaires nationaux et internationaux, l’initiative jeunesse 2250 n’est pas une plateforme d’organisations, mais un espace de concertation visant à renforcer la participation des jeunes aux processus de paix et de prise de décision en Haïti.
Avec le soutien des fonds des Nations Unies pour la consolidation de la paix PBF et le programme des Nations Unies pour le développement PNUD, plusieurs associations de jeunes et regroupements se sont donné rendez-vous pour discuter sur l’implication de la jeunesse dans les affaires politiques du pays. « La prévention et la résolution des conflits sont plus durables lorsque le point de vue des jeunes est privilégié », a fait savoir Me Stanley Augustin l’un des porteurs du projet. « Faire participer les jeunes et les dirigeants des communautés des jeunes aux efforts de paix, à la prise de décision et la réforme institutionnelle permet d’influencer des domaines qui ont un impact direct sur leur vie ».
Plus loin, l’ambassadrice de l’Union européenne, Hélène ROOS, présente au lancement à rappeler qu’en 2015, le Conseil de sécurité des nations unies avait adopté la résolution 2250. Pour la première fois, il reconnaissait officiellement « que les jeunes peuvent jouer un rôle important dans la prévention et le règlement des conflits et, singulièrement pour ce qui est de la stabilisation, de la capacité d’intégration et de la réussite des activités de maintien et de consolidation de la paix ».
