Le Conseil présidentiel de transition face à l’échec et à la colère populaire
À dix mois de la fin de son mandat, le Conseil présidentiel de transition (CPT) semble s’enliser dans l'impasse. Entre promesses non tenues, crise sécuritaire persistante et échéances électorales, les critiques s'intensifient. Le coordonnateur général du Sant Karl Lévêque, le prêtre Maisonneuve, n’a pas mâché ses mots en dénonçant les dérives du Conseil, qu’il qualifie sans détour d’ échec.
Selon le religieux, le CPT est incapable de répondre aux principales missions qui lui ont été confiées : organiser des élections crédibles et restaurer un climat de sécurité. « Port-au-Prince est livrée aux gangs armés. Les citoyens abandonnent leurs maisons chaque jour, contraints par la violence. Ce Conseil ne contrôle rien », déplore-t-il avec amertume.
Pour lui, aucune condition n’est actuellement réunie pour envisager des élections. Pire, il voit dans l’inaction du Conseil une manœuvre pour prolonger son mandat. « C’est peut-être leur stratégie pour rester au pouvoir. Mais ce dont le pays a urgemment besoin, c’est de sécurité. Ensuite, on pourra parler d’élections. », ajoute t-il.
