Enlèvements, violences sexuelles : la situation des droits humains en Haïti toujours alarmante
La violence des gangs en Haïti continue d’avoir un impact dévastateur sur la population, comme le constate un nouveau rapport des Nations Unies sur les violations des droits humains enregistrées dans ce pays au cours du quatrième trimestre de l’année 2024.
Entre le 1er octobre et le 31 décembre 2024, selon les données du Bureau intégré des Nations Unies en Haïti (BINUH), au moins 1.732 personnes ont été tuées et 411 ont été blessées dans le cadre de violences perpétrées par des gangs et groupes d’autodéfense, ainsi que lors d'opérations de la police nationale.
Créé en 2019 et basé dans la capitale haïtienne, le BINUH a notamment pour mandat de défendre et promouvoir les droits de l'homme dans le pays.
